Not that my opinion alone matters in the grand scheme of things, but you may have noticed some weird omissions from  ballots in the Best GS poll simply because people never saw such-and-such a show.
Would you rather have a show not voted on because they'd never seen it, or have someone say "I've never seen Blockbusters, but tons of game show pages say it is a good show. I rate it #5!
I'm not sure why it's really all that big of a deal.

In what world?) Best to just let it be.

Hey guys,

Looks like we have a problem with the voting process. The FamicomWorld.com e-mail is having problems re-directing some e-mails people have sent. I have recieved the following people's votes:
JayLewis
dixonhayes
D.C. Lundberg
James Owen
Christopher Bligh
Don Howard
Seth
SRIV94
mst3kfan

If you sent me an e-mail and you're not on the above list, you may send your list again to FamicomFan@Gmail.com instead. The deadline will now be January 23rd.

Looks like we're almost a week away. So far I'm dissappointed in how many votes I've gotten, but I pretty much expected that that would happen. Oh well. Remember to send in your votes, if you haven't!

                               The Results

We actually had 30 announcers nominated...Today I'll show 30-26, and tommorow 25-21.

30. TIE: Jack Narz (Beat The Clock) and John Moschitta, Jr. (Hollywood Squares)- 1
Was that the only announcing job Jack ever had?

29. Jeffrey Tambor (Hollywood Squares)- 2

28. Chet Gould (What's My Line?, Dream House)- 5

27. The Fun House Announcers- 6

26. Joe Conklin (Finders Keepers)- 7
I personally always liked him on that show, myself...

Thoughts so far?

I could have sworn I heard Jack sub-announce for one or two G-T shows in the late 70s/early 80's.  Card Sharks and Tattletales is what sticks in my head.

Didn't he do a week or two of CLASSIC CONCENTRATION near the end of its first-run (filling in for an ailing Gene Wood)?  Or was that Art James?

Wouldn't that make 31?  :)

I thought about doing it like that, but then it wouldn't be a nice round number like 30...Yeah, I'm that lazy, my apologies...

And on the Concentration question, I'm pretty sure it was Art James, since I THINK the weeks he subbed were at the same time he subbed weeks for Family Feud. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Two:

1) I think this speaks volumes about why the list should have been cut off at 20 (and I suspect we're going to find that even that was too high), and

2) Someone voted "the Fun House announcers" as the greatest ever when they COULDN'T EVEN REMEMBER THEIR NAMES?

In addition to the Card Sharks guest stint listed above, Jack Narz also announced on the Bill Cullen-hosted game Place The Face. And, yes, it was Art James who subbed for Gene Wood during the early summer months of 1991 on Classic Concentration. Art was even shown very briefly on camera during a long credit roll.

That's why I'm sending out numbers 30-21 right away. The others will be sent out two at a time every few days. It's really only a list of 20, but I had some others that made it a list of 30. I thought it'd be interesting to see who was left out of the 20 (Some weird ones were left out...as you'll see tommorow.).

Art also subbed for a few weeks on Tic Tac Dough.  I remember Wink thanking him a few times during the course of the shows he did.

He did a week on the purgatorial Patrick Wayne-hosted run, too.
Plus, he was on VO duty for a bit on Face The Music.
From the way Jack Barry made it sound at the top of the fourth syndicated season of The Joker's Wild, Art wasn't meant to be a fill-in. It seemed like Art had the job. Jack "welcomed that new voice" and said that Art would "be with us for a long time". By the time the Million Dollar Tournament where the national champion was crowned came along, Jay Stewart had returned and Art was gone from there for good.
