I suppose "The Joker's Wild is a game of definitions." would not be appropriate. But how about...

"Can  you come back tomorrow"-Jack Barry-TJW

"The bucks or the box"-Geoff Edwards-TNTH

"One of these stars is sitting in the secret square."-Kenny Williams-THS

"Will the real <blank> please stand up?"-TTTT

"Oh Vanna!"-Pat Sajak-WOF
Tom Hornikel

I did NOT push Jim Peck. I just encouraged gravity.

If you're going to go with that at all.
Except that you could also lay claim to "Will the first [next] challenger enter and sign in, please?" too.  "Sign in, please" shortens it to the common element in the line.

It's silly semantic arguments like this that is why I stay as far away from these threads as I can.

I'd also consider variations of:

"The actual retail price... (then applied to showcase or contestant's row)," or "______ you're going to PLAY......... PLINKO!!!! for a chance at $_____," or part of Bob's long spiel at the big wheel--TPIR

"I'll take ____ for the block (win)"-- TTD or HS

"Press your luck or pass?" --PYL

"Now entering the studio are today's contestants." --J!

"RSTLNE/3 more consonants and one more vowel" or "Try not to hit Bankrupt, because if you do you'll lose all your cash, but not your merchandise because once you buy a prize it's yours to keep"--WOF

The longer a show's been on, the more familiar the lingo that the hosts use on there becomes to the average viewer. TPIR, J!, and WOF are the obvious examples here...
"I'm dressed as one of the most frightening figures known to man...

A TV game show host."--Pat Sajak

From your own show, "I'll take (insert topic) for $200, Alex."
I realize we don't hear it as much these days on J!, but the phrase I always associate (in a variety of variant forms) is, "Make sure your response is in the form of a question."  Certainly no better than fostergray82's suggestion, but worth throwing out there...

But I might buy the "chosen especially for you thing" for TNG.  What's the definitive phrasing?
I don't know if you can call this "definitive," since it came from an April 1985 episode of The All New Newlywed Game, but here's the exact phrasing of the two we discussed in this thread:

"Okay, with the wives secluded safely offstage it's time to answer some five point questions."

"Ken and Laura, you're our grand prize winners today!  And now Ken and Laura, as today's winners of The All New Newlywed Game, here's that special prize, chosen just for you, a fabulous second honeymoon to Hawaii!"

Hopefully in the next couple of days I can dig out that 1960s episode I have to see how they're phrased in that one.

Come up with more? 95% of the ones you came up with here aren't even catchphrases. (weak exception being Lingo's)

Geez.

I'd say that several of those were actually said a whole lot on their respective shows--it's just that they were dumb things to say.

"Go up there and touch that" especially. Possibly the worst "exciting buildup" ever.

That deserves a "Wow," a scarecrow, a brick, and anything else that's blunt enough to throw.

You'd think that if he was going to call an obscure quote like that a catch phrase, he'd at least get the quote right...

I get the feeling that JayRock didn't pay attention to the standard Usenet / message board adage of "lurk for a while before you post, so you get an idea of the culture and don't look like an idiot."

The correct answer, with all due respect, is that he merely got away with it at G-R for 3 years and counting. I can't as easily link to his current account, but his record at the old boards is linkable.

I can promise everybody that he won't get to 327 messages with US posting like that.  Unnecessary on so many levels.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
