NEW logo
[/quote]

From what I saw, this was the only thing that looked a little uninspired to me. I won't say any more than that. I actually liked the logo from the Anderson/Karn years. The new one looks like Microsoft WordArt to me. :)

Otherwise though...the set has very much the "feel" of classic Feud.

I hope it stays on the air here because I really want to see it. Four years ago the ABC affiliate dropped it after Louie's last rerun. I did not see Richard Karn untill another station picked it up midseason.

//Sidebar: Wow, I didn't know that the PS2 FF game was going to have online play. Interesting.

Yes, I agree, the new logo looks like wordart, with the 3D feature enabled.

Anyone know who the guy behind the podium is? It's obviously not Richard Karn.

Too bad PS2 couldn't wait until the O'Hurley version to premiere, and maybe John could host that too.

I hate it when game show hosts feel like they are "too good" to do voice and video work for a video game.  I don't know if that's why Richard Karn didn't do it, but if it is, he joins Pat Sajak in that "I'm too conceited but have no reason to be" category.

Careful, there are many reasons why a host might not be involved with a videogame project, and being "too good" or "conceited" may have nothing to do with it.  In the case of Wheel of Fortune, Vanna's face probably sells more units than Pat's would anyway.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Perhaps it's not him being conceited. Couldn't it also be because Pat's just a guy who prefers to keep to himself over having his likeness all over the place?

I remember seeing Pat talk about this somewhere.  The reason for him not being on a videogame is because he didn't want his kids at the time to see his face everywhere in stores.  If you notice, you don't see much Sajak in stores.

These days, his face is frequently seen aboard city buses in Los Angeles (and elsewhere, I assume) -- one of the "features" on the on-board TV system is "Pat Sajak's Lucky Letters" puzzles.

Ahh, but Richard did do voice and video work for the DVD game. Good to note that this is the first FF game we've seen in almost 6 years. The last gen. FF game was out for PC/PS1, and had Louie Anderson has the host. (Which Artech Studios actually did a half-decent job with, even though Louie's acting was terrible).

Also, I would say that the box art is just that, box art. I figure that since most of the development went through a time when the only set we had was Karns, it should have a Karn look-and-feel. However, without any screenshots, we don't even know what it looks like. It could be buttons on a blue background for that matter.

Yeah, Pat isn't one to avoid making a buck and using his name.  He probably just picks his spots.  Doesn't he (used to) have a baseball show on satellite radio, too?

FF online (heh) seems incredibly smart, since you can actually pit teams of 5 against each other that way.
This signature is currently under construction.

Might explain why Pat can only be seen & heard on the latest incarnation of WOF slots at the casinos.  By the time his kids are of legal gambling age, those machines will have been long since replaced.
