WWtBaM taxes?

I was on the Regis Philbin version in 2001. I did not pay NYC or NY state taxes on my winnings. I only paid Federal tax on the cash I won on the show and the hotel stay (We were already going to be in NYC so the show did not have to fly us to NYC). Also,  I live in Florida and there is no State Income tax so that was not an issue either.
