Title: GSN Tries OnDemand
Post by: itiparanoid13 on September 06, 2005, 03:39:26 PM
Cory actually reported a story today on our site (http://\"http://www.buzzerblog.com\") about this.  GSN is going to be dishing up some publicity for Word Slam OnDemand.  It's going to include individual programs about all 11 people, behind the scenes footage, summaries of the game, and more.  It's apparently going to start on September 1st.  Note: this is apparently for the markets where the event was held.

Well, that's stupid.

If they do continue to do OnDemand, I can't wait for the game shows!  (But they'll probably just have primetime stuff on there anyways)

Prolly true. The way other networks do their On demand with just their "hype" shows and not what we might want to watch. Like MTV , I mean there's other shows than Real World. but If GSN tries this, it'll prolly be like you said only prime time shows. But then again I wouldn't mind seen Ballbreakers on there.

Yeah; I mean, let's face it:  I don't think there will be a day anytime soon where we flip on the OnDemand and see a chance to watch "Blockbusters:  Bill Rafferty, Ep. #13."  While that would definitely be cool (it'd give me an excuse to get digital cable!), I don't think GSN will spend the money and resources to cater to exclusively us, sad as that is to realize...:)

However, I do think that maybe having shows like Poker Royale or Ballbreakers available OnDemand might be a decent idea.  People can watch the one or two that they missed, maybe get introduced to the show outside of its time slot, and, even better, GSN can promote some of their other shows.
