Title: The Ultimate Family Feud Experience 2
Post by: Family_Feud_Fanatic on April 28, 2005, 01:14:15 PM
Hi, everyone.  I have a new "Family Feud" group on Yahoo! called "The Ultimate Family Feud Xperience 2."  Log on to
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheUltimateF...FeudXperience2/ (http://\"http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TheUltimateFamilyFeudXperience2/\").  If you have any music cues from the 1976 music package, the 1988 music package, the 1994 music package, & 1999--2004 music package, please feel free to post them in the files section in the folder "Family Feud:  The Music That You Were Never Meant To Hear."  All cues must be in wav format, mp3 format, or Windows Media format.  Have a very blessed day.

Is there really so much interest in "The Ultimate Family Feud Xperience" to merit not one but TWO groups?

What's wrong with Windows Media or Ogg Vorbis? Strikes me that beggars can't be choosers.

"The Ultimate Family Feud Xperience 2" is about music cues from the 1976, 1988, 1994, & 1999--2004 music packages that were never heard on any of the versions of "Family Feud."  By the way, you can post any "Feud" music cues that you have in wav format, mp3 format, or Windows Media format.

I'm thinking he joined here just to pimp his group..

Looking at his posting history, he's just your basic theme horder.  Nothing wrong with that (I do it myself), but that's all he's been talking about.

I do find it typical, looking at his repost, that he's clueless about Vorbis.

How many music cues are out there that weren't heard on the show?  I would think not many.

I say again: and this merits a seperate group?

Why not fire up a group just for the ticket plug they used in 1978?

(and three posts do not a posting history make, although I agree that it doesn't look promising.)

I gave up asking that question when two particular individuals in this forum felt a need to create four distinct Yahoo groups -- one for Barry, one for Enright, one for Goodson and one for Todman.  IIRC they've since been deleted, but the fact that they were started in the first place was scary.

I'm not certain since I don't hit the Yahoo groups much, but isn't there some sort of limit on how much file space you can take up in any one group?  Maybe this guy just has SO MANY Family Feud cues that he ran out of space on the first one?

BTW, in general we don't have a huge problem with fanboyz plugging their own sites, as long as it's not a daily thing that becomes a huge nuisance.  On the other hand, we've turned away people who sign up for the sole purpose of plugging a commercial site.  Just one more way we're working behind the scenes for you, our valued members.  You're welcome.

Nothing beats the one Yahoo group for gs theme with 10 administrators/moderators.  The e-mails from the group consists of who is banned and why.  Its pathetic, yet funny.

As found on their site:
Dear members,
It has come to my attention that many of you have been angered by the fact that we don't allow PYL, TPiR or Double Dare files here. The reason why is not because we don't like or appreciate these shows. The reason is because there are at least 3,000 or more of these kinds of files floating around a good portion of the game show themes sites here on Yahoo! Groups. As a result, we don't want them here, and anyone caught posting them will be dealt with accordingly. Also, I have been noticing that many of you have been accusing myself and the other moderators/assistant managers of running this site only for satisfying the theme needs of the GSTLL staff members. That is entirely not true. If you are one of those incsecure people with no life from the so-called Invision boards whose sole purpose in life is to wreak havoc on harmless game show websites such as this one and gsn.com, then I advise you to watch your back because we will no longer be tolerating your crap anymore. If you don't like the standard of service offered here, leave at once. You can cause trouble elsewhere. If you do choose to stay, remember, one wrong move, and myself, or one of the many moderators here has every right to ban you from this group. Thank you for your understanding.

I've tried joining up. Based on the roster of moderators (one of them was the yahoo that suggested BigJon was a lawbreaker, in one of my favorite IM conversations of all time), I'm guessing I don't have a prayer. :)

It comes natural, I guess.

I didn't mention Invision at all, in fact, and in fact I joined up with my Yahoo user account, which uses my pseudonym, which they must have recognized from my signature. It just ain't easy being me, I guess. :) Perhaps I didn't kowtow enough when I filled out the "application". :)

I don't make a big deal about knowing people's real names (that's what we have Zinkin for!), but on that list of moderators, I only recognize one name, a pretty active member here who has, I believe, bad-mouthed us in other forums.  Nice to see our tolerance is so appreciated.

Matt, you're exactly right.  My very 1st group "The Ultimate Family Feud Experience" has all of the official "Family Feud" theme songs, music cues, and sound effects from all of the versions of the show.  I did run out of space.  The reason why I created my 2nd "Family Feud" group on Yahoo! is because, there are so many more music cues that were never heard on any of the versions of "Family
Feud."  So, I want to bring those to you humongous "Family Feud" fans.  So far, most of the cues on "The Ultimate Family Feud Xperience 2" are in Real Audio format.  50% of them are 30 second samples.  I still don't know how many cues there are in the 1976 music package, and the 1994 music package.  But, I do know this:  There are 26 cues in the 1988 music package, and 110 cues in the 1999--2004 music package.  If anyone can find them, and post them in mp3 format, wav format, or Windows Media format in the files section of "The Ultimate Family Feud Xperience 2," that'll be fantastic.

They can be fun to listen to. I'm thinking what we're seeing here is a classic case of Pokemon syndrome, the obsessives who have to have them ALL. You see them on the emulation web sites, too, they have to have ALL of the roms for whatever, even the particularly crappy games that nobody in their right mind would ever want to play.

Hey, I thought I was the official cue guy of Invision! ;)

You know, I just don't get the obsession over these Yahoo Groups. If you ask me, it's a piss-poor method of posting MP3 files, not only because of Yahoo's anemic bandwidth limits, but also because of all the hoops you have jump through just to get to the files.

My site (http://\"http://home.comcast.net/~caseybuck/\") (shameless plug!) has not had one single bandwidth limit error in the 3 1/2 months it's been up. And the files are free for the downloading; I don't discriminate who does or doesn't get to download the files. In fact, I've received mostly nothing but praise for what I've done for the GS community (except from the music cue hoarders; you know who you are).

If you want to post game show music cues, get a friggin' website, preferably not from Geocities, Tripod, FortuneCity, Angelfire and the like.

Back in the days of modems and BBS's, where I lived, there was about a year-long period where kiddies who wanted to run Their Very Own BBS but couldn't afford the twenty bones a month for a decidated phone line would pimp their (horribly lame) boards all over the place, with the stipulation that you needed to call them voice first so they could put the board up for you, 'cuz they didn't have a phone line or a dedicated PC to run it 24/7 like a real sysop would.

These Yahoo groups, when used for this purpose, are the same idea. Serious people put up a Web site. Pretenders scarf up Yahoo groups.

Grampa Aaron's gonna back him up, too. :)

I was a big BBS person from 1990 to about 1995; and I liked it so much I put up my own bulletin board, the C.O.N.T.R.O.L. BBS (since my handle was Maxwell Smart), but I was one of the "kiddies" Chris mentioned who ran a part-time BBS for a few months. It ran 10pm-6am and used our same phone line. Even though I specifically stated it was only during those hours, we got calls day and night for the BBS which lasted until we moved away in 1993. It was a really dumb thing to do, but what can I say? I was younger then. :( (16)

ObGameShow: The one BBS I belonged to had a WoF-type game called "Bit Spin". It didn't take me long to eclipse the high score. :)

Of the 10 or so (or however the hell many it really is) mods that GSTLL has, I think I'm the only regular who actually posts here, as well.

I'm not 100% certain I know what's going on, but I have a really good idea.

Edited to add that this thread, up to this post, has been sent to Mark David.

I know virtually nothing about any of this, and I can plainly see what's going on just by reading what everyone posting in this thread is saying.

(Be sure to send this one along, too.)

As a member here, then, perhaps you could mention to your leaders that we don't appreciate seeing our Invision board criticized on your group's main page.  I have no problem with restrictive policies on a private board -- though I'm still quite baffled as to what I could possibly have done that would make you guys reject me -- but I can promise you that whatever problems you guys are having have nothing to do with the moderators of Invision, none of whom had even heard of you until a couple of days ago.

This is the same bunch of cretins that used to have those empty "proboards" sites, where they'd all appoint each other Moderator, right?  Each forum site would have hundreds of subforums, most of which only contained the Rules, ranting a rather peculiar misinformed understanding of "free speech".  And no actual content or conversation, none at all.

If so, then "Move along folks, there's nothing to see here."

One word: AIDS.  It can't be that wonderful.  OK, so I'm a cynic!  At least I'm a live cynic.

ObGS: Didn't AIDS claim the life of Nathan Cook, who we saw on Super Password this past week?

Not only is this worthy of the first Scarecrow I've given in several weeks, it also has to go down as one of the more tasteless posts I've ever seen in here recently.

You make Debbie Downer look like an eternal optimist.  Do you wear a tin foil hat because you think "the man" will alter your mind?

Per the IMDB, Cook died due to an allergic reaction to penicillin.

ObGS:  Nathan Cook was also on The $100,000 Pyramid.
