Title: Blockbusters 87 Question
Post by: GSRebich on March 21, 2023, 10:02:51 PM
On the 1987 version of Blockbusters, how come each game was worth only $100 instead of $500 like on the original 1980-2 Bill Cullen version?

Because it's their budget, there was no longer a prize being split between two contestants, the endgame now had an escalating jackpot instead of a flat one, and it's their budget.

IIRC, the escalating jackpots didn't start until halfway through the run, and even then, they were personalized jackpots where the contestant's payout was based on how many times they made it to the Gold Run.
