We sometimes talk game/competition shows on Netflix (or other streamers), but this one is too good not to ignore: https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/netflix-squid-game-reality-tv-show-1235165133/
Whoever takes the $4.56 million in the end will be in good company with Ken, Brad, and James (and the others who preceded them, of course)!

I'm only interested if the eliminated contesti meet the same fate as those in the TV show.
Hey, let's take Squid Game and make a show out of it to promote Season 2. Oh, but we have to take out THE MAJOR PLOT TWIST OF SQUID GAME.
Did nobody in that meeting room realize that if the people who were eliminated in Squid Game were simply lowered safely to earth or escorted from the play area, put in a boat or a van, and returned to their life of poverty, absolutely nobody would give one crap, much less two, about the show?
Man, if I had Netflix stock I would be getting the hell OUT right now. They are in BIG trouble.

As much as we all love game shows, I feel like when I'm reading a book about streaming media 20 years from now, "They made a game show based on Squid Game" feels 100% like something Bill Carter would use as a point of reference for how bad they were doing right before some high-profile executive took over and turned the ship around.

Is Squid Game a shiny floor show?

Maybe you should try out and report back to us directly.

And let me note that I'm not advocating for killing people live on TV. (At least not on this show.)
What I am saying is that the death and the gore and the horror is what made Squid Game the phenomenon that it was. Take that away and leave behind Million Dollar Americanized Red Rover And Pogs In Green Korean Mafia Tuxedos While Extras In Painted Fencing Masks Watch Motionless With Nary A Firearm To Be Seen (because trust me, if they even implied they MIGHT pretend to shoot someone in this political climate Netflix would be even deader than they already are, and that's saying something), and you're gonna have the greatest cure for insomnia this side of Let's Smoke A Barrel Of Crystal Meth.

There’s a reason that The Running Man and The Long Walk are excellent stories—forcing people to deal with their pending mortality is not something many folks do voluntarily.
Basically we’re getting Schoolyard Minute To Win It. Meh.

I'd almost consider watching these.
