Post by: TimK2003 on August 29, 2021, 07:55:42 PM
Just days after they announced they were looking to sell their Black Rock NYC building, comes the news that their studios "in the valley" are also up for sale.

This is where the most recent season of Press Your Luck was taped.

It would be its fourth season (they taped 8 shows back in May with no audience and they're now airing the final 4 from season 2) and the first two were taped at TV City so...

The headline of the Hollywood Reporter article is inaccurate in the first place (as the article itself says, at this point, ViacomCBS is just exploring a possible sale with the help of a commercial real estate firm).

Also, even if it does get put up for sale and then sold, that doesn't mean a new owner is going to immediately tear down all the studio facilities to build condos -- there's a big demand for studio space in L.A., and the new owner may well keep the status quo (or even expand, as at Television City).

Most, if not all of MTM' Productions shows were shot there, as well as That 70s Show (to name a few), so it wasn't just CBS shows that filmed there over the years (although most MTM shows were aired on CBS). That is also where the local CBS-TV affiliate works out of.
