Title: Jewish Game Show Hosts

A friend's son is making a list of Jewish entertainers and TV personalities for a school project and asked me if I knew whether Art James was Jewish and if Alex Trebek had any Jewish ancestry because he once talked about visiting a kibbutz. I really don't know about either of them...anyone out there have any more info?

Going back in time, we had Robert Q Lewis, Larry Blyden and Bobby Van. According to Wiki, Art James was born to Russian immigrants.

Alex Trebek had no known Jewish roots.  His father was an Orthodox Ukrainian and his mother was French-Canadian.

I don't have any additional information about Art James or Alex Trebek, but I wanted to express my amusement at how, when the users of a game show message board see a Winner's Circle–esque thread title like "Jewish Game Show Hosts," they immediately go into list-giving mode.

My grandfather was a Russian immigrant, so Art may very well have been Jewish like me...but I have plenty of names here to help out my friend. Thanks, everybody.

Wiki says his birth name was Gary Altman, and his mother's maiden name was Clark. It didn't mention any Jewish heritage.
