Title: Fox orders "Game of Talents" starring "LMaD's" Wayne Brady

Described as a "mystery variety show" that seems to combine elements of I've Got a Secret, Play Your Hunch and America's Got Talent, plus one or two others that I might have left out.

Quote from: Wayne Brady
As someone who loves games and loves all types of talent, this was a perfect fit for me and I’m thrilled to be a part of the creative team bringing it to life. I also get to give away someone else’s money, which I always enjoy doing.

I feel like over the past ten or fifteen years, I've been hearing the "give away [the network's] money" line to the point where it's become a cliché. Is this a punchline that game show hosts have always used throughout the decades, or is it a relatively new trope common among comedians-turned-hosts?

Always been a thing, to the best of my recollection.
