Title: WWTBAM rule change?
Post by: JakeT on November 02, 2020, 03:24:12 AM
Were we made aware before this week that all players,  both celeb and civilian, are now guaranteed
to walk away with at least $32,000?

It's always been in the disclaimers during the closing credits, but it isn't mentioned during the course of the show unless the rule comes into play.

That’s how the celebrity editions with Regis used to get away with having the Fastest Finger players chime in from the sidelines and “help” the Hot Seat player up until question 11—which I always thought made for really funny television.

"It's always been in the disclaimers" only for the celebrities. This is the first time the contestants not playing for charity have been given a guaranteed amount.

That's because the previous set of Kimmel episodes only featured celebrities. At the beginning of this run, the disclaimers were updated to explain that the rule applied to the civilian contestants, too.

At least we can say that the celebrities aren't getting any preferential treatment this way.
