Primarily Body Language clips used here.  Though at 0:13 is something...interesting.

(wonder if Fremantle since fixed any of the flaws in the first time they tried to air it?)

One can only hope... it would make a wonderful addition to the regular schedule if they could get everything with Ambrose smoothed over.

My mistake- it is 10/24.

I'd imagine it'll mainly be Body Language, with a little P+ mixed in (I'd think they'd have to run the French episode...). If they get the issues worked out maybe Wordplay as a surprise..

If we go by their online presence they have the Narz guest-hosting episode and I think an episode from the Arnazes-White-Martin.  Perhaps those.

/Can't believe they STILL have mostly stayed in 1979 with the show.

Yeah, moreso since there's not a lot of Fremantle-owned Kennedy-hosted shows they have at their disposal.  They have BL, PW+ if they ever get that far, PIR if they ever iron that out...

Unless they patch things up with Ambrose.  And this is a longshot (see what I did there?), but if a certain choice on the survey of shows means that may some day be a possibility....

But...I expect mostly BL.  Maybe shows he was on the panel for.

I think PP and BL are givens. IIRC, Tom did the syndie MG for a week, he guested on BTC with his brother Jack and did a week on Moore's TTTT. Plus maybe, just maybe, we can see an ep TPIR hosted by Tom. Hey, one can hope.

How difficult would it be to get clearance to air a single episode, for a single showing?

What were the issues?

If they take it out of the wee hour purgatory (for whatever reasons it's there), there's the Family Feud week of Heavenly Hosts vs. Magnificent MC's.

IIRC, one of the co-producers, Rick Ambrose, didn't sign off on airing Wordplay on Buzzr. Don't quote me.

Something like that.

Looking back at my older post, I am wondering...what DOES Fremantle have that's Kennedy-hosted?  They are known for fishing out obscurities from the 50s and 60s, any of Tom's shows then possible?

Besides that, Body Language seems to be the one show they are all in on.  Password Plus is there but has just peeked outside of 1979 on occasion*.  Price is Right we already know.  Ditto the Wordplay hiccup.

They could have had Split Second, I assume, if it wasn't, you know, erased.

Everything else comes from non-Fremantle-owned libraries.

* - I am now wondering if Buzzr chooses to not get fresh PW+ so as to stay in Allen territory, pre-illness (before subhosts, before the subtle hints that he is not feeling well and etc.)?  Doubt it, though.

According to a contract at Fremantle, the marathon will consist of episodes of Body Language and Password Plus hosted by Tom, as well as episodes of TTTT with him on the panel.

And I did not know TK did TTTT- I know he did 70's Beat The Clock...

TTTT was the first thing I thought of. (Other Fremantle shows he guested on: Super Password, Match Game '81, Card Sharks, Family Feud... but I suspect they'd prefer shows he'd hosted.)

Then you should be following The Bill Cullen Archive on Facebook! (Shameless plug.)  We've been uploading a few episodes from a week (perhaps the only week?) he did.

In addition to the week y'all are showing on The Archive, Tom did 2 more weeks in 1973.
BUZZR aired one of those weeks back in July (eps. 1521-1525), just betting they'll just pull from that week.

Similarly, as the Narz episode and the Arnazes/Betty/Dick episode were on Buzzr's social media, I'm guessing these will count for the PW+ episodes.

Have to admit, I'm a little surprised myself that a schedule hasn't cleared.  They're still just showing the normal programming schedule for Saturday, both at Buzzr's site and at Zap2It.

I'm not, since if memory serves, they never updated the site to reflect the Orson Bean or Jerry Stiller tributes either.

Except the Orson Bean tribute was a two-hour thing, and came with little to no fanfare (and the fact that I didn't even know about the Stiller tribute, and I watch Buzzr fairly frequently, tells you how little fanfare that tribute had).

Also, they've been advertising the Kennedy tribute on their social media pages and on air (and it's running 10 hours, although I'm assuming the last three hours are reairs of hours 5 to 7).

So, yeah, this one actually deserves some schedule notating for.

While their FB page still says the tribute is scheduled for the 24th, the commercial they ran last night during MGHS Hour was changed to "Coming Soon".  The online schedule still hasn't changed,  so I'm assuming the date for the tribute has been moved.

Yeah, rights issues to a particular show (or shows) was the first thought that crossed my mind, too. Even TCM usually waits a month or two after the death of an “old time” movie star to do a tribute marathon to them.

That being said, I'd watch tomorrow, just to play it safe.

First episode is BL, from the week of 5/13-17/85.  So probably nothing new at least on the BL episodes, since that one's aired before.

UPDATE #2: So 8-9 was an hour of Password Plus. 9-10 was an hour of Garry Moore’s To Tell The Truth with Tom as one of the panelists and the 10-11 hour was another hour of Body  Language.

/Hoping those two Password Plus episodes show up on YT one day due to my WiFi being so spotty tonight that I wasn’t able to record it online.

You know, even for the Orson Bean and Jerry Stiller tributes, they at least posted a tweet saying "Tune in tonight..." or something along those lines the day of them. It's so weird that there was *nothing* done for this besides airing the promo and the initial tweet/post announcing it 11 days ago. Like, I know they don't change the schedule or give much fanfare, but maybe something on social media to further promote a tribute that not only took up 10 hours of your schedule, but was for a guy that hosted at least four shows you own (though they can't air all of them).

Now, what's curious is said first episode does not include his greeting to Allen, as the GSN copy did.  Unless I'm remembering wrong, didn't a different episode carry the greeting first?

A couple of factors in play:

The first P+ taping block for Tom Kennedy was Oct 11/12th 1980.  Both were all-celebrity.
The first week of 4 episodes were scheduled to air the week of/after Christmas.
The second week of 5 episodes aired the last week of October 1980.

GSN aired in the order they were taped.  The first episode from the 11th and 12th taping had the well wishes insert.

It looks like the first-aired (second-taped) week was rerun on NBC at some point.  And it was from that rerun week that Buzzr pulled the eps.  The first show had a 1981 copyright.

ETA:  The week was rerun 3/9-13/81.

Weird, but as some of the Kennedy episodes Buzzr put out there are from later in his run, maybe the master tape of the rerun version was closer at hand somehow?  And indeed, the White/Martin/Ball/Arnaz week wasn't far off from when Tom's first week was reran.

I'm willing to wager they edited the masters when they reran it.

Sounds legit, since AFAIK that's what happened to the Card Sharks masters (for the game show hosts and celeb tournaments from '80) when NBC reran those in '81.

Yep.  Looking on YouTube, GSN's original airing also used the same master tape (only it kept the dedication to Allen).
