Title: eBay Finds 5/26/20--includes Place Your Bets!
Post by: Dbacksfan12 on May 26, 2020, 05:23:54 AM
Tickets to TNNG with Jim Lange (https://www.ebay.com/itm/THE-NEW-NEWLYWED-GAME-Show-2-Ticket-Lot-1984-With-Your-Host-JIM-LANGE-ABC-285/123838174078?hash=item1cd554937e:g:dKAAAOSwT8FdHoLq).  Tape dates given are 1/26 and 1/27/1984.  Perhaps the only tape dates?
Nice lot of six photos (https://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Jack-Clark-THE-CROSS-WITS-Game-Show-Vintage-TV-Still-Photo-Lot-A221/163718815573?hash=item261e66df55:g:BgQAAOSwIo1c4gUZ) from The Cross-Wits with Jack Clark for only $5.99.
A set of wine glasses and napkins (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sex-Wars-Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer-Game-Show-From-2000-Wine-Case-With-Glasses/183918007914?hash=item2ad25e166a:g:hsAAAOSw8w9dUYIw) sent as a promo item for "Sex Wars".  Just over $13.
A rather unique poster for TTD' 90 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/VTG-ORIG-1990-PROMO-POSTER-TV-GAME-SHOW-TIC-TAC-DOUGH-ARTIST-STEVE-GRAY/333149600425?hash=item4d91437aa9:g:RYEAAOSw2FVbP9kU).  Pretty cool looking, and if it was less than $35, I would have bought it for myself.
A nice looking copy of Dealer's Choice (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1974-PLACE-YOUR-BETS-TV-Game-Show-Dealers-Choice-New-UNUSED-Complete/174288455211?hash=item289466c62b:g:1hUAAOSwQXxexF5r) (Place Your Bets!) for $25.00.  Description says unused and photos seems to reflect that.
This multi-pack of Gametek Jeopardy! games (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Jeopardy-First-Second-Sports-Edition-Gametek-for-IBM-PC-100-Compatibles-3-5/223531035903?hash=item340b7cecff:g:X2AAAOSwaAhc6y4U) isn't anything special, but interestingly the reverse side of the box notes the answers were taken from the show.

This would make sense. It was only on for a week as a Valentine's thing (from 2/13 to 2/17 if I recall) so they probably just knocked out the set of 5 shows over those two days.

A nice looking copy of Dealer's Choice (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-1974-PLACE-YOUR-BETS-TV-Game-Show-Dealers-Choice-New-UNUSED-Complete/174288455211?hash=item289466c62b:g:1hUAAOSwQXxexF5r) (Place Your Bets!) for $25.00.

For those who are wondering why the official name of the board game is called "Place Your Bets", Parker Brothers had already put out a game called Dealers Choice just a few years before.

I've got my second copy of the Parker Brothers Dealer's Choice. We had fun with it as a kid (even though I'm pretty sure we didn't play by the official rules) and the "Blue Book" value descriptions are wonderfully snarky. I don't think I've played the second copy; if you can't explain the rules of a board game during a party in less than 30 seconds, you're not going to play it. (Depends on your guests too; I once had to explain Password to someone about two years old than I am that had never seen the show.)

Unfortunately, both Place Your Bets! and the Cross-Wits photos have been sold.
