This has piqued my interest, but what U.S. markets ACTUALLY aired the 1986 Monty Hall version of Split Second in first-run? And on stations did it air in the various Canadian markets? I hope we can shed some light on it.
-
New York had it; 10:30 AM on WABC.
-
Retrontario has a Split Second promo from CFPL-TV 10 in London, ON. Given that it taped at CHCH in Hamilton, I imagine they aired it as well.
-
I'm pretty sure it aired first-run on WHP in Harrisburg, PA.

Everything I've found shows that Harrisburg didn't get it at all. Nearby WCAU in Philly ran it at 9:30 in the morning during the 1987-88 season.

The ABC affiliate in Scranton, PA aired it in the 1987-88 season after High Rollers IIRC.

Indeed they did, 7:30pm weeknights. I was visiting there Mid-June of 1987 and recorded an episode off air. Interestingly, it's the episode which is usually marked as episode #6 with Catherine, Gene, and Beverly, so they must have already exhausted all the first run episodes and started reruns.

I mentioned in another thread having a few Dallas/Ft. Worth-area TV Guides from 1986-87. The one I magically can't find is the only one from when the show would've aired, but I thought I saw SS listed in the mornings. If/when I find it, I'll post an update.

I Found Out KSLA (Channel 12 - CBS) in Shreveport, LA picked up Monty Hall's Split Second right before 2 Syndicated Talk Shows from Multimedia Television (Sally Jesse Raphael & Donahue)
-
Boston did on WHDH - I will dig and see if I can get more information about times etc

I'm bored, so I did it for you. :) Looks like in the spring of '87, WHDH aired it at 10:30am.

It didn't air anywhere in the state of Michigan.

WHDH was then WNEV.

KSLA was owned by Viacom, which syndicated Split Second in the US and IIRC, all five of the stations they owned had it some capacity. I can vouch for two others.
WVIT 30 (NBC) New Britain-Hartford, CT: 12:30 PM (punting Wordplay to WHCT 18)
WNYT 13 (NBC) Albany, NY: 12:00 PM (Super Password was already airing on WUSV 45 until that station shut down in early 1987)
Regarding WNYT, they would continue using Split Second as random schedule filler well beyond 1987, to the point of airing it at 7:30 PM for a week in September 1989 as filler between losing Win Lose or Draw and Hard Copy premiering (http://"https://www.radiodiscussions.com/showthread.php?698969-Retro-Albany-Schenectady-Troy-Tuesday-September-12-1989").
Schedule data for the two other Viacom-owned stations of this period - KMOV 4 (CBS) St. Louis and WHEC 10 (CBS) Rochester, NY - seems to be unavailable online.
-
Tampa-St Pete WTVT-13 (then CBS, now Fox) weekdays at 9:30 am, right before Pyramid, Card Sharks with Bob Eubanks, and TPiR.

The Rochester stations were listed in our TVGuides, and AKAIK, WHEC never carried it.
It was seen on CHCH Hamilton weeknights at 7:30 when it was in first-run. They aired repeats of it until the early '90s, I believe it was seen at something like 9:30 AM by then.

I haven't found that particular TV Guide, but I finally renewed my newspapers.com account and finally found a DFW-area newspaper that went as far as the 80s. I couldn't find a station that aired Split Second.

A former trading friend of mine - who's not a member here - e-mailed me and asked me to contribute that WXXV in Gulfport, Mississippi also carried the show.

I said on another thread here years ago that WVEU (WUPA) had Split Second '86 in Atlanta.
