Not sure if this would qualify as a "celebrity" obit, so I'll post it here for now, feel free to move it if necessary. Game show tape trader and YouTube uploader David Downs passed away yesterday, December 7, 2019. Cause of death unknown as of this posting. He will be sorely missed.

He seemed like a great guy who cared about the genre and sharing his love of it with others. May he rest in peace.

Judging by some of the reactions I saw on social media, David did have some detractors. That's fine. We're not all perfect.
But this is just the Internet. Not everything needs to be taken personally.
When a prominent member of the fan community passes- and I think David Downs certainly qualifies- it's a significant loss. Because that's, at least in my book, one less person who gets why we're fans. And that sucks. (So does going as young as he did, but I think you understand what I'm getting at.)
I hope that, however he went, it was painless and easy, and also that his family finds solace, strength, and peace through all this.

Heartbreaking...I was Facebook friends with him as well. Made the foibles of current-era Wheel and Price entertaining. His YouTube channel was a great source of episodes too. Was part of a game show community where I could usually feel comfortable.

Just curious, does anyone know who's running the Fun and Games Channel (David's former YT) now that he's passed? Videos are still being uploaded, so I was confused regarding that.

I think his SO said on Facebook that uploads had been scheduled for a couple weeks.
