Thanks to the magic of the auto-publish blog feature, I'm happy to share that there will be a 24-hour long Thanksgiving marathon starting at Midnight ET 11/22. All episodes are being digitized and uploaded well in advance and will automatically publish on the GSV blog at their designated times. Episodes will be viewable via an unlisted YouTube link, so you can watch on the go or cast to your TV :)
See how many of the series titles you can figure out, everything will be revealed on 11/15.

In the Cullen Four, for 1980, I'd go with Chain Reaction, Password Plus or Blockbusters in the 1980 slot, the '74 slot would go to the only existing episode of Winning Streak, the '76 slot would go to the unsold pilot titled Shoot the Works that catnap1972 uploaded before. In the TK Four column, the 1985 slot would go to Body Language or the nighttime Price Is Right(hopefully the former is from an episode that wasn't rerun since 2001). The 1987 slot goes to where he played his only week of Super Password episodes. That's all I can think of currently.
-
For The Four Jacks, I'm thinking...
Cross-Wits (Jack Clark, 1978)
Joker's Wild (Jack Barry, 1974)
Now You See It OR Concentration (Jack Narz, also 1974)
The Face is Familiar (Jack Whitaker, 1966)
The 1989 slot in The Geoff Edwards Four would have to go to the Jackpot! reboot; 1988 would be either Chain Reaction or The Big Spin, and of course Starcade for 1983.

Tom Kennedy hosted You Don't Say! in 1967, so that fills that column.

Crosswits had a game show hosts week where he appeared.

"Geoff hosts three games and plays one" - I think that this could be the "preview" episode of Talk About with him, Marc Summers, Steve Skrovan, and Scott Nemes.
Also, if the 1989 was a hosting spot this could also be an episode of The Big Spin.

Art James:
'67 -- Temptation
'81 -- Super Pay Cards
'87 -- Catch Phrase
'61 -- Concentration?

I'm thinking the '61 show for Art might be Say When. As for Cullen, '59 has to be TPIR, '74 could be Winning Streak or The $25,000 Pyramid,, '80 could be Chain Reaction, BB or PP. The '76 show might be TTTT where he was a panelist.

'74 could also be one of the episodes of Fred Abrams' run of terror on Three on a Match.
'76 could be the first episode of IGAS '76. Or a Pyramid. Or one of the appearances he made during one of his trips to LA. A '76 TTTT would be interesting given how few episodes from that period circulate and how by that point the show looked long in the tooth before the host change.
-
Hi there all,
The years on a few of the episodes have been updated (in yellow) and are now final. The series' themselves have not changed. Saw a couple of pretty spot on guesses...

Edit: The 1975 for Bill's 4th show should indeed be 1976 as in the original lineup, must've edited an old version.

Art James:
'61 -- Concentration?
I believe that was in '59...

Hello there!
Time to reveal to complete lineup. Ready? Here we go...

All episodes will auto-publish at their scheduled times and will remain up until December 6th.

GOOD LAWD! Where did that version of "Chump Change" come from and how does one get his hands on it?
EDIT: I think I found it!

-
That Bullseye theme clip made me think that particular portion of the theme had finally surfaced. The clean versions I’ve heard always jump cut to the end, right as that verse plays.
You’re an evil man. ;)
-
I forgot how much I loved the Bullseye theme. I kinda pushed it out of my brain once I realized how much of it was lifted from Santa Esmeralda, but it is still a lovely piece.
-
Getting started in about 5 minutes, the opening video auto-publishing right at 11PM CT / Midnight ET:
https://gameshowvault.blogspot.com/
Episodes will remain up through 12/6.
-
Thank you for doing this! Happy Thanksgiving!

I'll bite. Where? Such a nice version.

Fun stuff - thanks! Also, what is your answer to Vanna Nissan's interrogation about something you said 20 years ago? ::)
-
Thank you for doing this! Happy Thanksgiving!
Ditto. Debt was always a favorite of mine. Can't remember the last time I saw Cross Wits or Personality. I never saw the full pilot for Odd Ball. I don't recall any game show using eight celebs. One to six and nine yes. Eight no.

Hah! Yeah I don't even remember saying GSN didn't have the '79 Jeopardy finale but I'm sure the receipt is somewhere. So it was just "oops" and move on.
-
Bullseye seems to be down (probably an automated YouTube copyright flag?).

Sorry, it was set to Private. Should be working now
-
The page for the You Don't Say episode has a repeated link to the Kennedy Price is Right episode (mistake in uploading?)
-
You Don't Say has been fixed!
-
Due to some tech difficulties with the the 1988 Chain Reaction episode, it's been replaced with a 1980 episode with Geoff subbing for Bill. After watching it again, I should've probably just used this one in the first place ;D

Scattershot thoughts:
I adore watching Bill Cullen and Tom Kennedy host The Price is Right--Bill is flawless as usual and I think Tom deserves plaudits for taking on a tough gig and handling it expertly.
There's a neat little thing in Three on a Match that isn't discussed but is worth noticing--in the Big Match halftime event, the "first picker" advantage moves down the line so that one person doesn't get first choice of the remaining slots each time.
Even twenty years later the "double or quit" question at the end of Debt is a tense one. Even as seven-figure prizes have become the norm, the idea of paying down the entirety of one's debt versus going in for a big haul makes for a fantastic final segment.
-
Hope folks enjoyed the Thanksgiving offerings, remember they'll be taken down on 12/6.
For Christmas, the viewer's choice Top 10 will be brought back:
https://gameshowvault.blogspot.com/2018/12/vote-now.html
70 series to choose from, each participant has 5 votes per day, shows to be counted down on 12/23 with the Top 2 getting an hour each. Vote! :)
-
what'll happen if there's a tie for 10th like back in 2010? (will all shows involved in the tie get an episode posted?)
-

If there's a tie, the marathon would start earlier and both would be shown.

Oh good. (One other question, sorry if this sounds obnoxious, but last time you did this there was like 100 shows we could pick from, (That is just an estimate on my part.) (why did you lower the number of shows down to 70?

Yeah, never mind that he's been more than generous already. May karma cause your devices not to work so you can't watch ANY of it.

Are we sure this isn't a Vahan puppet account?

If you think something sounds obnoxious, you probably shouldn't---oh look who's talking, nevermind.

thanks for the info, (I really meant nothing by that question, BUT i can understand why it sounded like it did.)
-
As for the Thanksgiving marathon Jamie, are you taking the Thanksgiving marathon stuff off on 12/7 at 1a.m. EST?
-
thanks for the info, (I really meant nothing by that question, BUT i can understand why it sounded like it did.)
No, I really don't think you do.
-
Are we sure this isn't a Vahan puppet account?
I'm certainly not sure it isn't *a* puppet account.
-
thanks for the info, (I really meant nothing by that question, BUT i can understand why it sounded like it did.)
No, I really don't think you do.
[/quote) Yes, I do actually. (or at least I do NOW, I'll admit I wasn't entirely thinking when i posted my initial comment.) What I don't understand is why you don't think I understand.
-
What I don't understand is why you don't think I understand.
Because if you understood, this conversation never would have started.
-
Thanks to all that participated in the voting, looks like the "Top 10" will wind up featuring 15 shows as there's a tie for #10, quadruple tie for #9, and another tie for #8.
The rest were very clear winners with 1 & 2 winning by longshots. I'm a bit shocked over some the options that were available and received no votes at all.
The final 12/23 lineup will be (all times Central):
8:00 - Joker! Joker! Joker!
8:30 - Beat the Clock (1972, guest: Dick Clark)
9:00 - The $100,000 Pyramid (1986)
9:30 - I've Got a Secret (1972)
10:00 - Wheel of Fortune (Chuck & Susan)

12:30 - Show #10.2
13:00 - Show #9.1
13:30 - Show #9.2
14:00 - Show #9.3
14:30 - Show #9.4
15:00 - Show #8.1
15:30 - Show #8.2

There is nothing quite like a $100,000 Pyramid tournament (when hosted by Dick Clark) in terms of suspense and good play. Magnificent.
