GSN is airing promos for this show. It will air on January 14 at 7 pm ET. Covering stories and scandals.

Nothing convenient about that. It's yet another documentary about Michael Larson and they're running his episodes afterward.

Seems unlikely this is anything other than a repackaging of "Big Bucks: The PYL Scandal," no? I'm more interested in what the future installments may have to offer.
-
I have Let's Make a Deal in the background and the lower third advertises the upcoming episodes as "the biggest scandal in TV history!" I know that's a matter of opinion but that seems like a lack of knowledge for people who should know something about that.

This one is produced by the "Emogenius" and "Idiotest" team. New special, but don't what else they could add to the history.

The GSN website schedule indicates that the Sunday 1/21 cover story will review Meghan Markle's bio. There's a listing just afterward currently called "Miscellaneous Title - 60:00 Length" with the descriptor: "“Episode 1” William Shatner hosts a look back at some of the funniest moments in game show history, including favorite clips and personal interviews with some of the genre’s key players."

As many of us know, that describes a mid-eighties TV special produced by Goodson-Todman. Would be a neat thing for them to dust off, but you'd think we'd have heard something more specific about it.

So basically Cover Story is GSN's version of The E! True Hollywood Story or Behind The Music, no? As for the G/T clip fest that Matt found for us, didn't GSN play that special a couple Christmases back?

I'm sure that's what it is. GSN has aired it once or twice in the past.

"She held a briefcase on a game show once" merits an hour on GSN?
Jesus, we've had birthday posts here with more relevance.

I watched Cover Story tonight and there was really nothing there that we didn't already know, but there were a few new interview clips and some re-packaged footage from the original special. A enjoyable way to spend an hour. I only watched part of the episodes that followed because I've seen them several times.

The only new thing from this was the viewpoint from Larsen's daughter. Even Larsen's brother basically said that he was a creep. I think I'll pass on next week's episode about Meghan Markle.

I noticed that, too; I think I liked the original 2003 special better.
I hope Cover Story doesn't go the same route as Anything To Win; the latter often did non-GS stories.

The third episode of Cover Story will be "The Notorious Lottery Heist." Here's GSN's description: "Everyone dreams of winning the lottery, but how far did a group of people go in 2010 to make that dream a reality? The story behind a well-planned lottery fix and the work that went into catching the masterminds is revealed."
That will be followed by the second Shatner-hosted clip show, which GSN has never aired before.

The second Shatner show never aired. They ran the Michael Larson "Cover Story" instead. GSN has announced that more Cover Story eps will air in March.

Just a reminder that Cover Story returns tonight with an episode focused around game show super contestants.
