Author very clearly has never seen an episode of the current run, based upon the content in this article.
From the article:
"Fans of the series as it exists now might find early episodes peculiar, in that contestants were not eliminated as the show progressed and there was no bonus round. Although participants have always phrased their answer in the form of a question."
A fun read, to throw tomatoes at and/or use as digital toilet paper.

That's just stunningly wrong. I mean, aren't there editors to catch that kind of wrong anymore?

It's not wrong if the only example of the "original" show they could be assed to watch was the Fleming revival from '79.

There's other stupidity in the article, like saying elements of the '79 revival carried over to future versions, including the elimination of the lowest scoring contestant after the first round. Ugh.

Oh, believe you me, I didn't read the article. :) That's just the only possible justification I could come up with for ignorance to that degree. :)

Oy. This is one of those rare times I wish I hadn't let Game Shows '75 go dark.

By the by, is it dark as in, dark dark? Like all materials gone? (I loved your site, writing style and musings on the genre and would do anything I could to help relaunch it)

Basically this is a rehash of what we already know, but just putting this here for a little balance, I suppose. Not enough to merit a whole new post, IMHO.
