Title: GSN schedule change for the week of June 20
Post by: aaron sica on June 14, 2016, 11:42:35 PM
It appears that after less than a month that it left the morning schedule, "The $25,000 Pyramid" is back, this time starting from the very beginning of the CBS run in 1982. Same timeslot - 10:30 a.m. (EST)

Well then. That is indeed news I can use, though I was sort of liking the extra time it freed up. Since I don't recall nuking the Season Pass I should be all set.

/I remember a time about five years ago when they were airing two each of $25k and $100k. That was a whole lot of climbing in one day.

Interesting. Well there goes not caring that I don't get GSN anymore. Been a super long time since I last saw those early episodes.

I checked the PDF and had a bit of a "Huh?" moment. In the show description, they list Constance McCashin and Robert Mandan. However, in the "Guests" column, they list Scott Richards, Janet Gleason and Dick Clark. It seems that GSN has decided to put the contestant names in there now, although it's the only show where they do that. It's also odd that they list these episodes as being new, since they've aired before. Here's to hoping season two turns up at some point.

Wow, what awesome news!  These early episodes were shown in regular rotation, around 2000 or 2001?

I believe so. I don't remember how far the original lease for $25K Pyramid went, I want to say sometime in summer '83? Hopefully included will be the episode where Tony Danza acts like a jerk and, subsequently, was never invited back again.

IIRC, the original lease went up to the September 26, 1983 episode, so Tony Danza's week was included in that original lease from the green-ball era. There was a tiebreaker still played after the commercial break during Tony Danza's week along the way.

Likewise on my turf.

Checked out the June 27-July 3 line-up. No contestants' names mentioned there.

Cordially,
Tammy

For those who don't have a season pass for this Pyramid, Betty's White's debut on Pyramid is tomorrow (7/11).
