Buzzerblog reports that 500 Questions will be coming back for another run on ABC in 2016. Dates have not been announced. So it appears the show is not completely "gone" after all.
-
"By Gawd, we wrote these 500 questions, and we're gonna get them all asked if it takes us THREE YEARS to do it."
-
Gee, wonder if that means they have to pay the writers less since some of the material is already written...
-
Bumping this thread up as the show is starting to contact previous auditioners about trying out again for this season.
The "major" change to Season Two, according to one casting coordinator, is that contestants will only get five seconds to answer a question, rather than 10 in Season One. This was done, according to said coordinator, to "get more gameplay" on the show.

Gotta live up to the title somehow, I guess. :P

It would be interesting to see if Richard fills up the time with more banter so that the number of questions/amount of prize money doesn't increase.
With five seconds you really can't spam a whole bunch of answers. Whether that improves the game I shall leave to the philosophers.

Well, if they run enough series they are bound to get through the original 500 questions eventually.
-
Given that most questions were answered off the bat anyway, how much time do they think they'll be saving?
-
My recollection is that a reasonable number of questions that were answered correctly but not right off the top were in the 5-10 second range, so it seems like they're also creating the potential to slow the game down with all of the drama over the strikes.
