Title: More Silly Questions about TJW
Post by: Neumms on June 25, 2003, 01:03:08 PM
Seeing how some of you are setting up home versions, I'm hoping you might know answers I've long been seeking.

1. How many jokers were on each reel, compared with the five categories? Were all three front-game reels the same?

2. What were the odds of hitting the devil in the endgame? And am I correct in assuming--since I never saw two devils show up on one spin--that only one reel had devils?

Don't hold me to this, but I believe it was initially one of each category and one Joker.  Later on, another Joker was added to each reel and they were always all the same.  (I don't remember when, but I do recall Barry saying at one point that more Jokers had just been added to the reels.)

Once again, all three reels had one of each cash amount--$25, 50, 75, 100, 150 and 200.  One of the reels had a cash amount replaced with the Devil.  The reels were placed into the projection device at random before each end game.

And wasn't the Devil usually replacing a $200 window, as it was reported in ATGS a few years ago that a 200-200-200 natural triple rarely if ever occurred.

I have seen the 200-200-200 triple at least twice.

It really depends on how many slides each projector had.  If there were six per projector, then it is likely true that there were more than one joker on each projector.

Of course it would be pointless now to think that if TJW was updated to today's standards with computer technology and all.  I often wonder had TJW survived past the 1985-86 season if the projector slides would be replaced by computer windows.
