Title: $100,000 Pyramid computer game...
Post by: Kevin Prather on September 20, 2003, 07:20:31 PM
is there a place on the internet where you can download a $100,000 Pyramid computer game? i have the Sierra game, but i don't like the lack of a $100,000 tournament.

even if the game is just the Winners Circle, i'd like to sample it. If you can help, please do so. Thanks in advance.

I don't know of any Pyramid computer games with a $100K tournament feature, as the 1988 Box Office Software version doesn't have that feature either.

I don't think the people who create game show programs do so in their bedroom, Whosahman.

when i say bedroom programmers, i mean people who make their own games, like BigJon06 (http://\"http://tytewurk.com/pcgames\").

Here's a link to an uploaded copy I found of the 1988 Box Office Software version:

http://free-game-downloads.mosw.com/abando...yramid_the.html (http://\"http://free-game-downloads.mosw.com/abandonware/pc/puzzle_games/games_a/100_000_pyramid_the.html\")

(But you'd better get it fast before Box Office Software discovers this upload and sues the pants off the people who are making it available free of charge like the RIAA is doing with people who are uploading the record companies' \"intellectual property\"!)

It's not free of charge.  This site charges for membership.

And I don't make my games in my bedroom.  For that matter, I'm single, so I don't make anything in my bedroom.

OK, mind out of the gutter...

Then why was that site called \"Free Game Downloads\"?

It's especially ludicrous where they beg for money ONLY when you're ready to download the game.

Since you're pirating copyrighted materials (and don't get into the whole \"abandonware\" issue with me...the bottom line is that you are pirating copyrighted materials, and you know it), I don't see where you are in much of a position to complain about them charging a fee.

i know where this is going, and i'm not gonna let this thread wonder away from the topic. if you can help, it is appreciated. if you wanna talk about piracy, take it somewhere else.

And the 100k cd has a big time crash in it. Seems to happen after the winner's circle is played, but sometimes between the main game and winners circle.

I get that crash quite often on XP, even when running it in 98 compatablilty mode.  95 mode or Me mode doesn't work, either.  It only works correctly on my son's Windows 98se machine.

Why is it whenever someone mentions something you don't like even a tad bit, you change the subject?

I don't think Box Office Software exists as a company anymore. Whether that would be an issue in software copying I am not sure, however.

The Box Office Software version is pretty good. One player mode can be a little tedious, but the game shines in 4 player mode. It does no more than it needs to do, puts words on the screen, keeps time and score. Very fun to play. However, it runs REALLY fast on modern PCs. You'll need a good slowdown utility.

Shouldn't that be something you ask them instead of us?

Besides, I visited the page myself.  What part of  \"Where to get it:  HERE!\" is confusing you?
